From IT Unit
In Windows 2000/XP/Vista:
- Start > Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt
- At the prompt, type:
ipconfig /all
and the ENTER key
- Find the Physical Address line under the Ethernet Adapter Local Area Connection (also known as LAN)
- Copy the combination of numbers and letters (similar to this one: 00-0D-CB-46-C3-D6 )
- Note if this is a laptop or desktop computer
- Send it to lifeguard@tauex.tau.ac.il with your full name, room number and ID (Teudat Zehut)
- We'll get back to you with a reply within a few hours.
In Macintosh OS X.4 (Tiger) or OS X.5 (Leopard) :
- Apple menu > System Preferences > Network >
- On OSX.4 (Tiger): Select Built-in Ethernet > Configure button > Ethernet
- On OSX.5 (Leopard): Click on Built-in Ethernet on the left and click Advanced > Click on the Ethernet tab that appears on the right
- Copy the Ethernet ID
- Note if this is a laptop or desktop computer
- Send it to lifeguard@tauex.tau.ac.il with your full name, room number and ID (Teudat Zehut)
